Country Code Validation Improvements

Previously, the API would validate that country codes followed the CCA2 (ISO 3166-1 Alpha-2) country code format such as AU or NZ, consisting of two uppercase characters. We’ve now improved this validation to restrict it to known countries. You can find the supported list at ISO 3166-1 alpha-2.

This affects validation on the following fields:

  • Individual Address
  • Individual Citizenship
  • Entity Address
  • Entity Registered Country

The most common error is the use of the UK code for the United Kingdom instead of the correct code GB.

We have been logging the use of invalid country codes over the last six months and reaching out to customers who have been using them before enabling this additional validation.
