Example workflows using the First AML Zapier integration

Case created trigger

In this example, we’ll demonstrate how to set up a Zap that uses the Case Created trigger to send an email to a specified address whenever a new case is created in the First AML platform.

In the Zapier platform, go to Zaps and click Create. You’ll see the workflow builder UI appear. Click on the trigger placeholder and search for “First AML” in the search modal. Select the First AML integration:

Search for First AML

If it doesn’t show up for you, you may not have been invited yet to use the integration. Please contact your CSM to get access.

Then select the Case Created trigger:

Select trigger

After you’ve done this, click Continue. You’ll then need to make sure your First AML Public API account has been connected to Zapier. Once this is done, click Continue again to configure the Trigger.

There are two fields to configure the trigger:

  • Organisation - please select your organisation once it appears in the dropdown.
  • Office (optional) - if your organisation has offices set up, you can select one here. If omitted, the trigger will run for all offices you have set up.

Once you’ve provided these details, click Continue to proceed to the trigger Test step. You should see some sample cases from your own First AML account appear here. Select one of them and click Continue with selected record. This will be used later to test the Zap to verify everything works correctly.

This should take you to Step 2 of your Zap, where you can now process incoming case data from First AML through another application.

As an example, we can select the “Email by Zapier” app as our action to send an email when a new case is created. You’ll see as you fill out the various fields Zapier will let you access the case output data from the First AML trigger, using the case data you selected earlier as an example to guide you:

Output data

Once you’ve set up your action, you can then proceed to the final Test step where Zapier will use the selected case record from earlier to perform a test run of the whole Zap. This allows you to verify the Zap is working correctly before publishing (making it live).

Create case action

In this example, we’ll demonstrate how to set up a Zap that uses the Create Case action to create a new case in the First AML platform in response to a new contact being created in HubSpot (a popular CRM platform).

In the Zapier platform, go to Zaps and click Create. You’ll see the workflow builder UI appear. Click on the trigger placeholder and search for “Hubspot” in the search modal. Select the HubSpot integration, and then select the New Contact trigger:

Hubspot new contact

Proceed through the steps to connect your HubSpot account to Zapier (omitted here for brevity). Once this is all done, you’ll see an example of what the output data for the next step in the Zap looks like:

Hubspot output data

Proceeding to the next step, we then select an action. As shown in the previous example, search for and select the First AML app, and then select the Create Case action:

First AML create case action

After clicking Continue and connecting your First AML Public API account, you’ll get to a detailed form showing all the accepted input fields for the Create Case action. You can use the output data from the HubSpot trigger to populate these fields:

Create case input fields

Once you’ve populated all the fields you need, click Continue to proceed to the final Test step. Here you’ll be prompted to run a test to verify the Zap is setup correctly. It’s recommended to do this before setting your Zap live.

Create case test

If you’ve configured everything correctly, you should see a new case created in the First AML platform and the details are returned as output data from the Create Case action (should you wish to create a multi-step zap and add further actions related to the new case).

Create case test success

Now you can click Publish to start receiving new First AML cases when a HubSpot contact is created.
